About
Join us for a creative and inspiring Gratitude Journaling Workshop where children ages 6-9 will explore the power of reflection and thankfulness!
In this one-hour session, participants will listen to a read-aloud of "We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga" by Traci Sorell: a story about how the Cherokee community expresses gratitude for the blessings and challenges that each season brings. The Cherokee word "otsaliheliga" (oh-jah-LEE-hay-lee-gah), meaning gratitude, serves as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and appreciating the blessings and challenges that each season of life brings. After the read-aloud, children will engage in a collaborative discussion on what it means to be grateful, sharing their own ideas and reflecting on the concept of gratitude in their daily lives. Together, they will brainstorm creative ways to express thankfulness in meaningful ways. Participants will then put their thoughts into practice by completing engaging writing prompts in their journals, allowing them to express their feelings…
