Game-Based Learning
Our virtual lessons are fun, engaging, and designed to keep your child smiling and engaged! Unlike the remote learning struggles many experienced during the global shutdown, our personalized approach brings learning to life in a whole new way!
The Virtual Lesson Dashboard is a one-stop hub where your child can access fun, interactive games and activities that reinforce what they’ve learned in our lessons. With engaging practice tools available anytime, your child can keep building skills and confidence in a way that feels like play!
As part of our virtual lessons, student gain access to Vermont Literacy Network's Boddle game classroom! This super engaging program allows all VLN students enrolled in lessons to play and learn together. Students will complete assignments to earn points, grow their pets, and - of course - practice their literacy skills!
Initial Student Evaluation
Before starting our virtual Individual Lessons, every child takes part in a FREE Initial Student Evaluation. This gentle, low-pressure assessment is designed to understand your child’s unique strengths and areas where they may need extra support.
The evaluation includes a Perspectives and Interests Survey to learn how your child feels about reading and writing, a writing sample, and interactive activities to observe their reading skills. We assess phonological awareness, the alphabetic principle, decoding skills with different word patterns, and recognition of irregular words (often called "sight words" or "high frequency words"). Using this information, we create personalized learning goals to guide our one-on-one sessions!

We’re dedicated to making top-notch literacy programs available to all families at affordable rates, so every child has the chance to succeed. While we don’t currently offer scholarships for Individual Lessons, we’re working hard to make this possible in the near future!
LOCAL LEARNERS DISCOUNT
Bristol, Starksboro, Monkton, New Haven, Middlebury, Ripton, and Lincoln residents are eligible to receive a monthly 10% discount on lesson tuition!

Billing occurs monthly for prepayment of the following month before the first. Invoices will be sent out to families via email roughly a week before the first of the month. Payment must be completed in full before lessons begin.
