About Our Lessons
Individual Lessons are 45 minutes of focused, engaging learning designed specifically around your child's unique reading and writing needs.
We use a structured literacy approach inspired by the Orton-Gillingham method and grounded in the science of reading. By weaving in your child’s interests, we make learning meaningful, effective, and fun!
Interest-Focused Learning
Our interest-focused approach leans into what your child loves most so reading and writing feel exciting and relatable. By incorporating their favorite topics into lessons, we can create a connection between their interests and the skills they're building. It becomes easier for your child to stay focused, make progress, and gain confidence!
New Student Meeting
The New Student Meeting is a simple, low-pressure introduction to Individual Lessons.
This free session is designed to get to know your child and interests, and assess their skills through quick, hands-on activities.
The goal in each New Student Meeting is to learn who your child is as a learner. Information collected in the meeting is used to tailor learning goals for future Lessons.
Additional times may be available upon request.
Virtual & In-Person Availability
We offer both virtual and in-person lesson options so you can choose what works best for your child and family!

Tuition & Discounts
Beginning January 1, 2025, we are excited to introduce an income-based sliding scale for Individual Lessons. Our new tuition structure ensures high-quality literacy instruction accessible and affordable for everyone.
Many families may be eligible for additional discounts:
LOCAL LEARNERS DISCOUNT
Bristol, Starksboro, Monkton, New Haven, Middlebury, Vergennes, Ripton, and Lincoln residents are eligible to receive a monthly 10% discount on lesson tuition!
EVERYDAY HEROES DISCOUNT
Active or retired military, educators, nurses, and first responders receive a 10% savings on monthly lesson tuition as our way of saying thank you for your service and dedication!
